The Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements signed between the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of Peoples Republic of China allows for the exemption of visas for single or multiple entry for both countries' nationals, for a period of 30 days. China 

Maldivians intending to visit China on specific purposes other than tourism and for durations longer than 30 days, require a prior visa to travel to China.
